"Born and raised in Omaha, NE; Shakeeta Draper's love for the arts started as child. A bright, imaginative and precocious little one from humble beginnings; Shakeeta often used her drawing ability and ideas as a means to escape the stress and pressures of everyday life.
Quickly, she realized that art was therapeutic and has healing purposes. She also understood her gift was suited to benefit anyone in need of assistance, Shakeeta started having visions of impacting more than her immediate surroundings. Her purpose of using art to heal was becoming bigger than herself. Her dreams of impacting people outside of her hometown began to manifest themselves.
Many years, Shakeeta spent studying and honing her crafts, adopting and incorporating a multitude of skills. In 2007, while completing her studies in Graphic Art and Design; Draper Art Creations was born. Through this vessel, she gathered an understanding that art itself cannot be reduced to its corporeal form; it can become a gateway to the spiritual relam and if permitted, may offer an experience to meditate and reflect, uplift, and ultimately channel emotion through the medium applied.
Shakeeta aims to continue creating the environment to immerse yourself and absorb the artistic nourishment provided by her work, whether it be intellectually or spiritually. This is the objective of her journey through Draper Art Creations.
